Seventh- and eighth-graders receive instruction in the Bible and the Lutheran faith, including the Apostles’ Creed, the Lord’s Prayer, the sacraments, grace, worship, the Ten Commandments, and faith and life issues. The two-year program includes a week-long summer camp at Lutheridge in Arden, North Carolina.
• Lutheran Men’s Prayer Breakfast is held Wednesday mornings at 7:30 a.m. in the Lizard’s Thicket, 4616 Augusta Rd. (US 1), Lexington; generally led by lay persons on rotation.
• Mid-Week Bible Study is held each Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. in the church Conference Room 105, normally led by the Pastor and sometimes other lay persons on rotation.
• Special Studies Weekend trips are sometimes offered to locations (like Lutheridge or one of the Lutheran Retreat Centers) for marriage enrichment or other special studies.
Vacation Bible School
VBS is held during evenings for one week during the summer.
This is a special summer opportunity for Christian learning, fellowship and fun for children of nursery age through 6th grade, as well as adults. Youth in 7th-12th grade may serve as assistant group leaders, recreation helpers or music leaders.
First Communion Classes
We believe the decision about the age for a child to begin receiving communion is best made by each family. To help make that decision, please consult with Pastor. First communion classes are normally held each Spring.
