From Sunday School to marriage retreats, St. David offers a variety of learning opportunities for all ages.
St. David offers Sunday School classes at 9:30 a.m. Sundays for children and adults.
Members and visitors enjoy coffee and fellowship every Sunday morning in the Commons Area before Sunday School. Join us! Jennifer Jeffcoat is the Sunday School Superintendent.
Children's Sunday School
Classes are provided for all children nursery age through 6th grade. An excellent teaching staff uses material prepared for specific age groups.
Teens' Sunday School
High-school students meet Sunday mornings with caring adults to talk about issues that affect their daily lives.
Adults' Sunday School
Adults may choose from a variety of classes, including one geared to young adults.
Seventh- and eighth-graders receive instruction in the Bible and the Lutheran faith, including the Apostles’ Creed, the Lord’s Prayer, the sacraments, grace, worship, the Ten Commandments, and faith and life issues. The two-year program includes weekend retreats and a week-long summer camp at Lutheridge in Arden, North Carolina.
Adult Bible study classes are held each Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. Other learning opportunities include marriage retreats and special studies.
Vacation Bible School
VBS is held during evenings for one week during the summer. This is a special summer opportunity for Christian learning, fellowship and fun for children of nursery age through 6th grade, as well as adults. Youth in 7th-12th grade may serve as assistant group leaders, recreation helpers or music leaders.
First Communion Classes
First Communion Classes prepare youth in 2nd grade for the reception of their first communion. These classes are held in the spring. Older youth who have not already completed the classes should also attend.
